 February 18, 2009 Dear Mr. Sauls, On February 1st, I was on my way with my 13 year old son from Atlanta to Charleston for his Southeastern Golf Tournament. About 20 miles outside of Charleston, my right rear (tire) went flat on my Acura RL. I called Acura and they gave me directions to the Acura dealer in Charleston. the Acura dealer suggested Tire Kingdom and Hendrick Honda of Charleston for fixing these types of tires since they were the only two dealers in town with a PAX machine. I went to Tire Kingdom and their machine has been out of order for months. I then drove down the street to Hendrick Honda. I was greeted by Darrell Hixson and Kevin Mink. They arranged a rental car and told me they would be back to me in two hours. Unfortunately the tire was not fixable. I then proceeded to call Nalley Acura in Atlanta and several other Acura dealers and no one would cooperate in finding me a replacement tire. The earliest I was going to be able to get a tire would be Monday which would have cost me a day of work and my son being out of school for another day. Kevin and Darrell worked behind the scenes and found a tire in Ohio and arranged for it to FedEx to your dealership on Saturday. They really went beyond the call of duty to help me out when my own dealer and manufacturer could not come through even though this is the 5th Acura I have purchased from them in the past 3 years. I just want to take this opportunity to thank you and your dealership for having such a first class service department with leadership and work effort that is second to none. My weekend with my son and the time we spent in Charleston would have been disappointing if it wasn't for the effort of Kevin and Darrell. In a recent article published in Motor Trend, the 2008 Honda Accord EXL V-6 went in a Head-to-Head Competition with the Toyota Camry SE V-6.
