So many options...what is right for you?

Purchasing a new vehicle is a big decision.  There are a lot of factors that can easily make the shopping experience a stressful one. What kind of car are you wanting? What kind of budget do you have?  What kind of financing options are out there? What kind of extras do you need? Do you have a down payment? Would you rather purchase than lease?  Will you give me enough for my trade in?

How do you narrow these things down and still keep your sanity? 

First off, figure out your budget if you are financing, expect to pay about $20-$22 per $1,000 financed. So if you want to have a lower payment you can put more money down, have a trade in or you can finance for a longer term.  Don't care about the payment but want it paid off quickly??? You can finance for as short of a term as 24 months. Keep in mind that your payment is higher the shorter the term you select to finance for.

Leasing is also a great route for those who want a smaller monthly payment and like to get into something new every few years.  Just watch out for the one big thing-mileage!  If you drive a lot leasing may not be for you as you are limited to only 12K miles a year.

Now that you have a ballpark idea of what you can spend think about your current situation.  Do you have kids? A large dog? Take a lot of road trips? All the factors of your life should be considered when car shopping.  If you have 3 kids you may want to consider something a little more roomy than the Fit maybe an Odyssey or a Pilot.  If you are a dog lover and take your four legged friend with you everywhere you may want to consider the Element with its Dog Package. You like to hit the highway for fun filled road trips the CR-V is a great choice.  You want something practical but you love to hit the yard sales on the weekend what about the Fit with its great gas mileage and versatile cargo area? You have a family but want a sedan then you may want to consider the Accord.  Honda offers so many options for every lifestyle.
