2011 Pink in the Rink

The Stingrays and the East Cooper Medical Center are partnering with Susan G. Komen-Lowcountry to fight breast cancer in the Lowcountry. The 5th Annual Pink in the Rink will be this Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the coliseum. The team will be wearing PINK jerseys and play with PINK hockey sticks in to raise money on behalf of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure-Lowcountry. Survivors will be celebrated and lots of fun is planned for the night! The doors open at 6 pm for the start of the silent auction. Last season, the Stingrays raised over $40,000 to help fight breast cancer. In the four-year history of the event, the Stingrays have donated over $73,000. Come be a part of the celebration for those who are survivors and to help raise money to help find a cure for breast cancer!

Honda to lead the 2011 Rose Parade.

The theme for this years Rose Parade is "Building Dreams, Friendships and Memories." Honda will be leading the Rose Parade this year with their float entitled "A world of dreams." A winner 15 out of the past 16 years Honda's floats have always taken center stage. This years float will not be a commercial entry or part of the judging.

"Honda and the Tournament of Roses have had a unique, community-oriented and long-term relationship," said Bill Flinn, chief operating officer, Tournament of Roses. "Honda always brings a great amount of creativity and innovation to their Rose Parade entry, and we are excited to have their float kick off the parade this year."

"Honda has worked with the Tournament of Roses for the past 50 years to bring tradition and entertainment to parade viewers and the local community,' said Stephan Morikawa of American Honda Corporate Community Relations. "The Rose Parade is our opportunity to wish everyone watching around the world a happy New Year." Since 1994 Honda has been the official car of the Tournament of Roses.

Concern for the environment is a priority with Honda and as a company they are always striving to leave less of a carbon footprint behind. So this year marks the first time Honda's float will be propelled by a specially-configured hybrid, low-emission engine.

Be sure to tune in for the parade on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011. Airing on various television networks before the big game of the east meeting the west for the Tournament of Roses. The game will be broadcast on ESPN at 5 p.m.EST. Who will be the victor between the Wisconsin Badgers and TCU Horned Frogs. Who knows...but the parade is one thing that will not disappoint!

Hendrick Honda of Charleston is pleased to introduce our most recent addition to our sales team, Stephen A. Garcia. Stephen is a people person and is also bilingual. Originally from San Antonio, TX he came to Charleston because of the friendly people and employment opportunities. He is a graduate of Texas A & M University with a B.S. in Management. Stephen and his wife, Christine, have been married for 13 loving years and they attend Bethany United Methodist Church in Summerville. They have two wonderful children Noah, age 10 and Zoe, age 8. He loves spending as much time with his family as possible. An owner of a CiCi's Pizza in Summerville he also has 15 years tenure with the company. Giving back to the community is also very important to Stephen. He has been a volunteer at the Palmetto House for 6 years now. He is on the board for the Callen-Lacey Center for Children as a Gold Level Sponsor. He is a member of the Summerville Chamber of Commerce and the Summerville Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. A sponsor for Pinewood Prep and a business partner with Summerville Elementary schools for over 10 years now, education is very important to Stephen. Visiting his family back home in Texas, snow skiing in New Mexico or Colorado are just two things Stephen enjoys but aside from his family GOLF is his recreation time passion! 2011 Honda Accord -Highest Safety Rating by NHTSA!

Charleston Honda is pleased to announce that among all the 2011 model-year passenger cars that have been tested for crashes under the new U.S evaluation standards, the 2011 Honda Accord received that best safety rating. Next in line was the Toyota and Hyundai sedan models. Forty models have been tested so far and the Accord, Honda's top selling U.S model, was the first to receive five stars in all three crash categories tested by NHTSA.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is an agency that is a part of the U.S Department of Transportation. NHTSA conducts independent crash testing’s on new vehicles and then scores them using the five star rating system. The agency tests each new vehicle for frontal crash, side crash, and rollover. NHTSA also provides useful information to the public regarding safety recalls on vehicles as well as accident statistics.
